Our Three Pledges

Environmental Responsibility

Social Responsibility

Inspiring Sustainable Development

Our first aim is to run our events in an environmentally responsible manner.

Our second aim is to turn our events in a socially responsible manner.

Our third aim is for our events to inspire sustainable development.

How Did We Do At IRE 24?

Every year, we challenge our attendees, exhibitors, partners, and vendors to be the most sustainable! Here's an overview of what we did at our event.

What We Did:

  • Recycled printed signage – As an annual event, we made sure to develop printed materials that can be reused or recycled
  • Reduced printed materials & implemented digital wayfinding – We heavily reduced printed materials and event guides in favor of using the mobile app.  We made the expo hall floor plan and agenda available right on the show floor
  • Terracycle recycling bins – Attendees & Exhibitors recycled their badges and lanyards at one of the Terracycle bins in the main lobby for a chance to win a $100 gift card!
  • Replacing single-use water bottles – We gave our staff and speakers reusable water bottles instead of single-use plastic
    containers
  • Utilized digital signage – We are replaced traditionally printed signage with digital options where possible

About the Event

Each year the International Roofing Expo partners with a local chapter of the non-profit organization Rebuilding Together to help make critical home repairs for low-income local community members in need, including veterans, the elderly, and the disabled. The annual IRE Community Service Day Project consists of a volunteer day, monetary donations, and sponsor donations.

Volunteer Day

For our volunteer day, IRE attendees and exhibitors sign up to physically work making the repairs to homes or other local community projects. The volunteer day is held a day before the show opens.

Donations

During registration and on our website, IRE attendees and exhibitors can make a monetary donation to help us raise $15,000 to assist with the cost of the home repairs. The International Roofing Expo also makes a monetary donation each year to the project.

Sponsors

The IRE works with various sponsors to help raise money for the project, secure donated supplies, and help cover the volunteer day's expenses. In addition, each year, we work with companies to donate the labor and supplies to replace one or more roofs for people in need.

Terracycle recycling bins

Recycle your badges and lanyards at one of the Terracycle bins in the main lobby and you could win a $100 gift card!
