Established in 1886, the National Roofing Contractors Association is one of the construction industry's oldest trade associations and the voice of professional roofing contractors worldwide. It is an association of roofing, roof deck and waterproofing contractors; industry-related associate members, including manufacturers, distributors, architects, consultants, engineers and city, state and government agencies; and international members. NRCA has more than 3,600 members from all 50 states and 25 countries and is affiliated with 87 local, state, regional and international roofing contractor associations. NRCA contractor members range in size from companies with less than $3 million in annual sales volumes (48% of the current membership), to large, commercial contractors with annual sales volumes of more than $500 million. Greater than half perform both residential and commercial roofing work, and more than one-third have been in business for more than a quarter of a century.
The NRCA has a variety of resources to help roofing professionals and companies. From guides and tool kits to databases and help lines, you can find information to assist you with various areas of your business.
Each year the NRCA's Annual Convention is held in conjunction with the IRE, allowing you to network with fellow roofing professionals worldwide, see the newest industry products, equipment and services, and learn from the industry's leading experts. By participating, you'll acquire vital, practical information you can put to use immediately when you return to your office.
NRCA University provides essential training opportunities for you and your employees that address leadership development, roof technology, safety and much more.
CERTA Training Program
The CERTA training program is ideal for contractors whose work involves torch applications. The full-day program trains experienced roof system installers on the safe use of roofing torches used to apply polymer-modified bitumen roofing products. CERTA training shows how proper roof system configuration design and application techniques can result in fire-safe installations. CERTA training sessions are offered each year at IRE (advance registration is required).
NRCA ProCertification®
Through NRCA ProCertification, NRCA's national certification initiative, experienced workers who demonstrate substantial roofing skills and knowledge can become certified by NRCA in specific roof system installations. All information, materials and tests are available in English and Spanish.
Training for Roof Application Careers
NRCA developed Training for Roof Application Careers (TRAC) to help the industry address ongoing workforce issues. Your company can use TRAC—which includes English and Spanish content to provide new and inexperienced field workers with information and skills to help them become quality roof system installers who thrive in their careers. To help you train as many workers as possible, NRCA has significantly reduced the price for TRAC packages. Now every roofing company can afford to use these quality training materials.
