This evening includes a cocktail reception where members will enjoy a full bar, amazing food, as well as a popular live auction where you can bid on trips, artwork and more! All proceeds will support ROOFPAC, the only political action committee dedicated to advancing the roofing industry in Washington, D.C. Tomorrow's Roofing Leaders Compete Today: The Roofing Alliance Construction Management Student Competition

The Roofing Alliance Construction Management Student Competition is more than a showcase—it’s a front-row seat to the future of our industry. This annual signature event challenges students to demonstrate their roofing knowledge, master project planning and excel under pressure. By attending, you’re not only supporting students, you’re also investing in the next generation of roofing professionals.
The Cannery Casino and Hotel is the project for this year’s competition. Five finalist teams will be selected to provide a 15-minute live oral presentations at the IRE in Las Vegas. Attendees can stop by room CC/W211-W212 and watch as each team presents their project. Winning teams will be announced at NRCA’s Industry Awards and Reception.

Be part of Team USA!
NRCA is seeking the best young roofing talent in the U.S. to represent Team USA at the World Championship for Young Roofers in Budapest, Hungary, in November 2027.
What is IFD?
IFD is a global organization representing the roofing industry and hosts the World Championship for Young Roofers, a prestigious international competition with a 60-year history. Roofing workers ages 28 and younger compete against peers from around the world in one of four disciplines:
- Slate/tile
- Low-slope roofing
- Metal panel
- Façade
Each Team USA entry consists of:
- Two competitors
- One mentor/coach
- One discipline per team
Team USA first competed in 2024. NRCA is now identifying top talent in the roofing industry to represent the U.S. in 2027.
How to qualify
The Team USA Qualifying Competition will take place on the show floor at the International Roofing Expo.® Two-person teams will compete in one of the selected disciplines.
Each competing team will need approximately half a day to complete the competition.
NRCA will provide tools, materials, and access to the show floor tournament for competitors and coaches. Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodations at the IRE.
To participate in the qualifying competition, applicants must:
- Be employed by an NRCA member company
- Be 28 years old or younger as of Dec. 31, 2027
- Be able to travel internationally and have a passport
- Hold NRCA PROCertification® credentials in their discipline or demonstrate equivalent skill and experience
Time commitment
The winning teams from the Team USA Qualifying Competition at IRE are expected to train during the months leading up to the World Championship for Young Roofers at their participating contractor’s location. NRCA will provide training materials but will not directly train teams. Teams should plan for a total training commitment of at least one to two weeks (40-80 hours) spread over eight months.
Selected teams will travel to Budapest for seven to eight days.
NRCA will provide:
All participation costs for team members going to Budapest, including attire, meals, airfare, and hotel accommodations; tools and materials in Budapest Materials and plans to practice on a championship-style mockup at team members’ facilities
Ready to apply?
If you have skilled installers ready to represent the U.S. on the world stage, complete the application for the qualifying competition by Nov. 20. Applicants will be notified by Dec. 11 so they can make travel arrangements to the IRE.
