EXTERIORS BUILDING CLINIC

Clinic Description

One of the biggest challenges facing roofing contractors interested in expanding their business into other exterior replacement product lines is the skilled labor shortage. To help address it, IRE is introducing this new hands-on training area to the show floor. Led by nationally recognized subject matter expert, Mike Sloggatt. Mike will detail best practices when installing different styles of weather barriers and flashing prior to the exterior cladding. Mike will also review proper flashing details when replacing windows. Eight presentations will be held throughout the three days of the show.

Learning Objectives

  • Choosing the right house wrap and installing it correctly to insure severe weather protection.
  • Getting details right the first time, without getting any callbacks.
  • Installation tips for pre-hung doors.
  • Understanding our options when it comes to choosing roofing underlayment is important.
  • Learning how to install new windows in an existing stucco home
