National Roofing Legal Resource Center Luncheon
Tuesday, February 5
11:00 am - 1:00 pm

The National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) will host a luncheon program in San Antonio in Room 207/AB of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center immediately following the IRE Keynote address on Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. instead of its annual breakfast program.

This venue change will provide a greater opportunity for participation and provide roofing contractors with a very candid and eye-opening discussion from two different panels of speakers, both of which will share stories about a number of roofing-specific legal and technical issues you can’t afford not to hear.

NRLRC— Part 1: ICE Audits: Are You at Risk?
Consistent with the current upward trend in investigations by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), many employers nationwide have been ordered to submit their I-9 employment eligibility forms and other documents for inspection … often with very little notice. These administrative audits, which not only can lead to significant fines and penalties but also criminal charges against a company, appear to be ICE's enforcement mechanism of choice.

As recipients of ICE worksite enforcement visits, NRLRC’s first speaker panel, which includes Brad Beldon, president of Beldon Roofing, and Scott Kawulok, executive project manager of B&M Roofing, will share stories about their unexpected ICE audits to help you determine whether you are in compliance and prepared should you be ordered to submit your hiring records for inspection.

NRLRC— Part 2: Observations from the Field: Legal Do's and Don'ts
Learn how to minimize your liability and protect yourself from a number of legal and technical problems in the field during Part 2 of this year’s NRLRC luncheon. The second panel of speakers includes Mark Graham, NRCA's associate executive director of technical services; Dane Bradford, president of Bradford Roof Management Inc.; and Stephen Phillips, a partner with Atlanta-based law firm Hendrick, Phillips, Salzman & Flatt.  Time will be allotted for questions.

The luncheon is open to NRLRC members and roofing contractors eligible for membership. Each NRLRC member receives one complimentary luncheon ticket—two for those who have been NRLRC members five consecutive years or more—as a benefit of membership. Nonmembers may purchase tickets through NRLRC for $75.

Note: Purchasing a ticket to the Luncheon does NOT include admission to the show conference program, Keynote, Expo or Welcome Party. This event is not included with any registration packages.

Online registration is NOT available for the NRLRC Luncheon. To register, please contact Alison LaValley or Anne Schroeder at NRLRC at 847.299.9092 or nrlrc@nrlrc.net.
